Whitefield Rising a finalist at Namma Bengaluru Awards

We were reflecting back on the year gone by and our first anniversary. And we were amazed to receive this news.

Whitefield Rising was one of the finalists for the Namma Bengaluru Awards in the Citizen Group category!

To be a finalist among 71,500 nominations was indeed an honour. The jury headed by Justice Santosh Hegde consisted of Bangalore’s best! He said `These awards are a tribute to the spirit of service and commitment to the city that is alive and vibrant in the citizens, who are also determined to stand up/fight vested interests and claim their space in the fight to determine the future of our city.”

The winners of the prestigious award for 2013 were announced on 15 March, 2014, at the historic Freedom Park, Bangalore. Some of the big names in this category were Akshara Foundation, Association for Promoting Social Action, Association of People with Disability, Bangalore Political Action Committee, Citizen Action Forum, CUPA, Spastic Society of Karnataka,The Ugly Indians among others.

The fifth edition of the awards function saw attendance from eminent personalities.

 Many people came up to us at the award function and expressed their amazement at our work. 

 Back in Whitefield we have been flooded with congratulatory messages like these `Congratulations Whitefield Rising….. Your amazing work deserves every bit of adulation it gets…..’

 `Well deserved for your hard work, community spirit and commitment.’

 We have certainly won the Namma Whitefield Award!
