Panduranga, an autorickshaw driver has displayed exemplary honesty by handing over an amount of five lakh rupees, which one of his passengers had left behind in his autorickshaw. Manjari Ladies Association held its New Year Party, followed by a fashion show, on January 9th at Kalanjali Showroom, Jayanagar. The fashion show was organised by Garden City College. Mangalore Jewels, JP Nagar showcased its products at the event. Aim of the show was to bring fashion consiousness among ladies irrespective of their age, and to encourage students to model for designer saree shops. Members enjoyed the event. Membership to the association is open now. ⊕

In Recyclathon Awards, part of Bengaluru Recycling Habba, Mantri Tranquil apartment in Kanakpura road won the championship for Best Waste Wise Apartment (above 250 units category). Around 2009, a few residents here studied different recycling models across the city and designed their own version. Dr Ramachandran at the Mantri Tranquil recycling unit. After close to three years of delay, a 66 KVA substation will finally be constructed in Jaynagar 3rd Block by Karnatka Power Transmicssion Company Limited (KPTCL). The old BESCOM office in 3rd Block, near NMKRV Women's College will be demolished to make way for the substation. Proposed location for the substation in Jayanagar 3rd Block.
