I agree that a certain latitude can be given in cars' number plates, but surely, like in the instance here: When the licence no. can be misinterpreted and misread, it must be illegal? I think we need guidelines clearly spelt out by the Bangalore Traffic Police, about what is permissible in number plates. ⊕

Bangalore One Centres will soon be established at all outlets of the hypermarket chain Big Bazaar in the city. There will 18 such new centres, announced Dr D S Ravindran, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for e-governance, at a workshop organised by state government's Department of e-governance on January 24th. Dr Ravindran said that, of the existing 76 Bangalore One centres in the city, 38 centres  work 24X7, and the rest work from 8 am to 8 pm. ⊕

The owner was advised to maintain hygienic conditions in the unit and to use proper quality of food products while preparing sweets. They asked the workers to wear gloves and aprons while working. BBMP will start removing unauthorised hoardings put up by various organisations and individuals to commemorate birthday wishes, condolences, best wishes, etc on roadsides and tree branches. These cutouts, boards, posters and flex banners are spoiling the cityscape and are a punishable offence. Action will be taken as per Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act.
