I went to attend a wildlife photography workshop by Rathika Ramaswamy, for Pixetra...but that's not what this post is about. As I walked to the venue, I saw this old house... Baar Baar Rafi, a city-based Mohammed Rafi fan club, is organising a Rafi tribute concert on July 31 to mark the 31{+s}{+t}death anniversary of the legendary singer. The tribute, Remembering the Unforgotten, a karaoke night, will feature 31 of Rafi's hit songs sung by several talented artistes including Chandan from Tamil Nadu and Nagachandrika from Karnataka among others. Among the many times that I wonder about how the extremely marginalized cope with an empty stomach is when I hear the words "Mummy, I am hungry" on television. It is the ad jingle for a snack popular with children and youth since it entered India over twenty five years back. And it reminds me of the umpteen choices of 'fast' foods (usually unhealthy), available in urban areas.
