Two days after the launch of the Whitefield Rising Pool Circle Initiative, Ashish (the ride giver) and Pravir (the ride sharer) car-pooled from Whitefield to Domlur on the morning of 19th October. Although their residences, as well as their offices, are 3 km apart, PoolCircle app and SMS helped coordinate the 12 km overlap. The satisfied smiles of the ride giver and sharer! Pic: Pravir B. The SGBS Trust has put together a series of dance and music programes, to showcase theirflagship program, Unnati. Unnati is a free vocational training program for the underprivileged youth. The USP of this program is that till date the program has provided 100%campus placements to all its students. Over 31 batches comprising of 3000 students have been empowered till date.This series showcases some of the veterans as well as verypromising youngsters.All are Welcome. Today, I was asked to judge a debate on the theme, "Are Women Truly LIberated?" for the Inner Wheel of one of the Rotary Clubs of Bangalore. I had a fellow-judge, a lady called Purnima Ranganath, and there were two teams of three speakers each. The moderator was my friend Raji Radhakrishna, who invited me. Since it was also "Spread Breast Cancer Awareness Day", every woman had a pink rosette pinned on as a corsage, including the District Governor, who came to attend: The debate waxed fast and furious, and the "for" team were very positive about women being liberated...however,…

ESAF, a Bangalore based not-for-profit organization that is campaigning to make the city a child friendly one, decided to do its bit to create awareness on the advantage of not using cars.
