I got introduced to Rohan Chakravarty some time ago, when he moved from Nagpur to Bangalore. He was also with us in this year's Bangalore Bird Race (an involved debate about some waterfowl made their tally about 50 species less than ours, though we were mostly going around together!)I don't know him very well yet. It's been two years since we formed PNLIT!  To commemorate Founder's Day, today we launch our PNLIT LAKE=LIFE T-shirts.T-shirt designThe purpose of the T-shirts is to increase awareness about the importance of lakes and PNLIT's model of citizen participation in the preservation of our Public Open Spaces. The money generated will go towards the maintenance and improvement of Puttenahalli Lake.Our thanks to Nagesh of Opus CDM for the creative design - concentric ripples of water, the reflection of the clouds with the shadow of a bird and a tree-leaf... together signifying "life" at a lake.  These "Anniversary Limited Edition" Unisex T-shirts are available in Green…

Public voting and Jury assessment will together decide the final three winners.   PNLIT is a local people's initiative to tackle the problem of dying lakes and water shortage through public participation. We were instrumental in getting the Puttenahalli Lake restored and are the first citizens' group in Bangalore to officially maintain a lake.  We work within a very tight budget from donations made mostly by individual well wishers.  The People's Green Award will help us get some…
