Clicked2Help presents “Spirit of India”, an exhibition of photographs showcasing various facets of a vibrant and colorful India at Venkatappa Art Gallery (VAG). The exhibition will be inaugurated on 13 th May, 2016 and will go on till 22 nd May, 2016. The members of TGIS ("Thank God It's Saturday, a city-based photographers' group), have come together for the fourth year running to conduct this exhibition. This group represents a wide spectrum of the society including students, IT professionals, businessmen, and entrepreneurs etc. The amateur and experienced members all join hands to conduct this exhibition every year for a noble cause.…

It was very pleasant to sit on the lawns of Bangalore's premier management institution. In the gathering dusk, people drifted in and took their seats. The stage was well-lit.  Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia started the evening off with sweet notes from his "bansuri", with the lilting evening raga, Madhuvanti. One can truly say that, with his flute, he literally breathes  his music! For the audience, also, the composition in raga Yaman that followed, and then a bhajan, breathed relaxation and serenity into them.   When one of the impresarios came up on stage, he wisecracked that when pretty girls appear, trouble…

Entry to Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is free up to 8.30am, and cameras are not charged. The entry ticket business has been outsourced to some private organization. Yesterday (13 September 2015), we noticed people from this organization chasing visitors at about 9.30am and asking them to pay for their cameras. Some groups, visiting for special purposes, have special permission; eg, the Bird Watchers Field Club, which has a bird walk in Lalbagh on the 2nd Sunday of every month, has permission for the group until 10.30am. I cannot understand why officials should chase visitors after 9am and start charging for cameras,…
