Tree planting at Bellandur lake, all are invited

Hariprakash Agarwal, President, Suncity Apartment Owners Association (SAOA) and Director, Community Services at Rotary Club Bangalore Lakeside, shares this news for residents of Sarjapur Road, Outer Ring Road area.

The Rotary Club Bangalore Lakeside, Suncity apartments, Sobha Group of apartments with the help of BBMP have taken up a tree plantation project. We had been planning to plant trees from long time adjacent to Belandur lake and we came to know that 5 June is World Environment Day hence we thought of celebrating it with planting about 500 to 1000 saplings.

Most of the planting will happen near Suncity, Euphoria and Sobha Projects. This plantation will help each and every community living in this areas in many ways.

I request you all to extend your support and join us for the tree plantation.

The objective is to plant about 1000 trees inside the fence of Bellandur Lake boundary, sustain them over a period of time.

Bellandur Lake has recently been fenced. The fence is open at places – hence cattle access is not ruled out.  The lake is used to harvest grass and other greens by villagers of surrounding areas.

The proposed plantating area is at the boundary of the lake, there will be a 8 feet walkway surrounded by trees on both sides.  On the outer periphery there will be trees like Ashoka and on the inner side there will be other trees.

Logistics: There are three distinct areas of plantation:
1. Behind  SunCity  – divided in 3 sections
2  Behind  Euphoria – divided in 2 sections
3. Behind Sobha Apts –    divided in 1 or 2 sections
