BBMP Commisioner visits lakes

BBMP has allocated 2 crore rupees for the development of Ulsoor lake in the current year’s budget and work for the same will commence from November.

Local MLA Mr Roshan Baig conducted an inspection around the lake. Tenders have been called for to build pedestrian path around the lake, bridge construction, painting for grills etc and work will start as soon as the process is over.

During October a program has been taken up to clean all weeds and partheniums and to plant about 300 saplings on a single day.

Request was made to the government to deploy more Homeguards around the lake as a lot of Senior citizens come there for walk both in the morning and evening.

The team later visited Tiruvalluvar statue and discussed about the park development, the lighting and security around the park.

Team also visited Kaikondarahalli Lake in Mahadevapura area and received requests and complaints from the public regarding road widening, lake development etc. The citizens were asked to interact frequently with the local MLAs and assured that BBMP was at their service to give them good facilities which should be made good use of.

Plans are also underway to develop Parappana Agrahara lake and Kasavanahalli lake.
