Vacation Training at ATREE

Vacation Training Programme on Bio-Resources

The 6th Vacation Training Programme on Bio-Resources funded by the National Bio-Resource Development Board, Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India will be conducted by Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bangalore, during summer 2011.

Applications are invited from interested Class X candidates for the programme.

Duration: 26th April to 14th May 2011

Eligibility

Students should have appeared in Class X examination in 2011 from recognised schools in Karnataka
Certain activities involve spending few hours outdoors. Students should be physically fit and willing to take up such activities.
Proven interest in nature conservation will be an added advantage
Course Structure:
Lectures by eminent scientists and experts in the field of biology and bio-resources, visits to research institutes, orientation skills for field-biology, out-door camps, etc will be conducted.

Course Fee: Rs.1,000.00 (One thousand only)
Note: Fees can be waived in case of participants from low-income backgrounds.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates may send the following to the Programme Coordinator:

Filled in application form
A certified copy of class IX final marks-sheet
Other relevant certificates, if any.
Last Date for Receiving Applications: 15th April 2011.
Short listed candidates will be intimated by 20th April 2011

Note: Hostel facilities cannot be provided during the entire course. Candidates should make their own arrangements for their stay in Bangalore. However, accommodation will be taken care of during outstation camps.
